The Lost Gonzo Band Discography: Studio Albums, Live Sets, and Track Guides

Last reviewed: October 27, 2026

The Lost Gonzo Band made a small but well-loved run of albums under their own name, on top of their celebrated work backing Jerry Jeff Walker. Here's where to start.

Albums under their own name

The Lost Gonzo Band (MCA, 1975)

The debut, showcasing the group's several songwriters and their easy blend of country, rock and folk.

Thrills (MCA, 1976)

A second MCA album that leaned into the band's rock and pop side while keeping its Texas roots.

Signs of Life (Capitol)

Released after a move to Capitol later in the decade, rounding out the band's original run.

Later reunion recordings

Members reunited in later years for new recordings and shows, including the album Rendezvous.

Key recordings with Jerry Jeff Walker

  • Jerry Jeff Walker (MCA, 1972)
  • ¡Viva Terlingua! (MCA, 1973) — read the oral history
  • Walker's Collectibles (1974)
  • Ridin' High (1975)
  • It's a Good Night for Singin' (1976)
  • A Man Must Carry On (1977) — a double album with live material

Buying and collecting

Original vinyl pressings turn up in used record stores and online. Reissues vary in availability; check catalog details carefully before buying. We do not sell records ourselves — see our editorial policy for how we handle affiliate links.

Background reading is in our books guide, and the band's story is in the history. The debut is also on our essential albums list.
